Police Use Cruisers to End Car Chase

Police have laid several charges against a man suspected of driving under the influence.

Denton Osborn is facing charges including impaired driving, driving with a BAC over .08, criminal hit and run, dangerous driving, and failing to stop for a police officer.

Osborn led police on a chase around 1 a.m. on Saturday. Police officers responded to a possible impaired driving complaint in the parking lot at Market Mall.

Police found Osborn passed out at the wheel of a running pickup truck that had collided with shopping carts and a parked vehicle. When police attempted to wake Osborn, he accelerated the vehicle, hit a parked vehicle, drove through the parking lot and over a median and began driving erratically heading southbound on 49th Street.

HAWKs helicopter followed him from the sky. When the driver went through a red light and narrowly missed T-boning a vehicle driving through the green light, police officers were given the authority to physically intervene.

4 police cruisers were required to finally bring the vehicle to a halt. The police cruisers formed a box around the suspects vehicle finally stopping it on the side of the road.

While no one was injured in the incident, several police vehicles and the offender’s truck sustained extensive damage.
